Organic acids, such as citric acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, and ascorbic acid, are mostly combined with metal ions or combined with alkaloids to form salts. They are very effective active ingredients of Chinese herbal medicines. The effect on traditional silica gel or alumina chromatography is often not ideal. Generally, alkaline water with PH>12 is used to extract organic acids, and the extract is directly applied to SKI series Q-type strong anion exchange packing to extract crude extract (purity up to 60%), and then to extract monomers through SKP or SKR series fine separation and purification packing . In particular, SKP series fillers are resistant to strong acids and alkalis, and are more widely used than traditional silica gel matrix fillers and have a longer life.
